December is here and cooler weather is here. I've even heard rumors we might see a few snow flakes towards the end of the week. Crossing my fingers. Here are some pictures of our trip to Phoenix for Thanksgiving. We had a fun time visiting with my sister and her family, my parents, and even Andy's parents and grandma. Staci made a great gluten free Thanksgiving dinner, we went to ZooLights at the Phoenix zoo, celebrated Ben and Kaiya's birthdays, and went to the Organ Stop Pizza Parlor with Andy's parents and grandma. It was a LONG drive, but we made it. We ran into a "blizzard" in El Paso and ended up stuck on the interstate for 4 hours (3 hours one night, 1 hour the next day.) The girls were troopers though. They were thrilled to get some use out of their snow pants and boots. They woke up early and made a snowman at the motel.
We will, sadly, not be making it back to Montana for Christmas this year. It's a long story, but we prayed and God answered our prayers. The answer just didn't include Montana. We had prayed that Andy could find a part time job just to sustain us through the winter when our business slows down. The next day, the general manager of Best Buy called and basically begged Andy to come back. He told Andy he could pick his own hours, stay as long or as little as he wanted, and pretty much do whatever he wanted and that he just needed some maturity and good sales skills back in his store. It's not quite what we had in mind, but God answered and we can't complain. We had to choose which trip to cancel...Montana or Phoenix. We chose to eliminate Montana as it's the longest and most expensive. We're pretty bummed about missing out on Christmas in the snow, but again, God provided a little taste of it during our "blizzard" in El Paso. We will miss you all, but hopefully will make it back this summer.
So...we will be enjoying a fun family Christmas at home in Austin. Not bad, I suppose. We're going to find lots of fun activities to do with the girls. Trial of Lights, Main Street Bethlehem, Christmas Stroll, etc. The girls are excited to decorate the outside of the house this year...now they just have to convince daddy.

Oh, I'm SO bummed that you won't be coming home to Montana for Christmas! But I do praise the Lord with you that He provided so quickly and clearly a job for Andy - isn't He awesome?!!
We'll look forward to seeing you in Texas in July, so don't plan your trip to Montana for that time frame!

Well, this just reminds me of our Christmas last year! Not at ALL what we expected, but God was so faithful and loving and we had a GREAT Christmas even in our 'change of plans'. And so happy you all got some snow to play in!
Side note-there was what was called the 'Organ Grinder' in Portland and was the COOLEST place ever. They also had a HUGE arcade and I had my 6th bday there, myself and the party got to request and sing along...awesome. Looks like you all enjoyed yours:)
